Dear Sir/ Madam,
What an incredible few days at the 2026 eAA International Conference and Awards! This year's event was our biggest and best yet, bringing together 455 delegates from across the global e-assessment community, a fantastic increase on 2025's 399 and clear proof of just how much momentum this community continues to build.
Across three packed days we welcomed an incredible line-up for the AI Symposium, Roundtables, as well as the usual, two full days of conference programming, and of course the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony. With 113 scheduled sessions, 73 unique speakers, and delegates joining from the UK, Europe, North America, Africa and beyond, the breadth and quality of this year's programme was something to be really proud of.
The numbers tell their own story of a job brilliantly done: a Net Promoter Score of +52 (up yet again from +46 last year), 98% satisfaction with networking opportunities, and 95% satisfaction with the quality of speakers. None of that happens by accident, it's the result of a huge amount of work behind the scenes, and a massive well done to the whole team for pulling off such a smooth, professional, and genuinely enjoyable event. As one delegate put it, the operations team made it "a flawless event," letting everyone focus on the sessions and the networking that matters most.
Huge congratulations also to everyone involved in this year's Awards programme, particularly Matt Wingfield and Kat, which included three brand-new AI-specific categories that quickly became the single largest thematic group in the whole programme. A real sign of where the sector's attention is heading, which seques nicely to our next event.
📅Save the date: AI in Assessment: Manchester, 10–11 November
We're excited to announce our next event. This will be a genuinely hands-on, two-day deep dive into AI in assessment, with accommodation included, so come ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. More details to follow soon, but for now, save the date!

Why Assessment Quality Starts with Better Question Management
Strong assessment outcomes depend on more than exam delivery alone. Behind every reliable assessment is a process that supports consistency, control and continuous improvement. Speedwell explores how a structured approach to question management can help organisations strengthen quality, reduce risk and gain insight to improve future assessments.

AI, energy and water: What the assessment industry should be worried about
The environmental cost of AI has become a key concern raised by clients, regulators and the assessment community. It is also one of the most poorly understood topics. Numbers are often quoted from headlines that misread the underlying research, and AI is often compared with nothing, rather than comparing it to digital activities people already do without a second thought.
From OCR to AI Evaluation: How a UK Awarding Body Transformed Handwritten Script Processing
As awarding bodies continue to manage growing volumes of handwritten examination scripts, traditional processing methods often create challenges around speed, accuracy, scalability, and consistency. In this client success story, discover how Excelsoft partnered with a leading UK awarding body to overcome these complexities by transforming its script processing workflow through OCR, AI-assisted evaluation, and digital e-Marking—delivering a more efficient and reliable assessment experience.
eAA Voices: Bringing together different perspectives from across the assessment community.
Conferences are about far more than presentations and demonstrations, they're about the conversations, ideas and perspectives that continue long after the event has ended. That was the thinking behind Assessment Voices, an initiative created by TEAMCo as part of the Assessment Insight Hub at this year's EAA Conference.

A Theoretical Framework for Designing Digital Assessments
Digital Learning Environments (DLEs) for math are created with the aim of building students’ mathematical thinking, knowledge, and skills. It is therefore critical that such DLEs are grounded in relevant theoretical frameworks. Such frameworks are needed to assess students’ prior knowledge, address misconceptions, promote mathematical ways of thinking, and adopt an evidence-based approach to the design of DLEs for math. The flagship event for qualifications and assessment professionals will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Milton Keynes on 26 and 27 of November this year.
