As exam season winds down and summer beckons, assessment doesn’t pause. At June’s eAA conference in London we spent three energising days welcoming visitors to the TAO stand and exchanging practical know-how with awarding bodies, universities and suppliers determined to tighten malpractice controls, streamline workflows and embed inclusion by design. The conference theme—“Shaping the Future of Assessment: Innovation, Inclusion and Integrity in a Digital World”—framed the discussions perfectly.
Tuesday’s Awards Gala celebrated 13 outstanding projects, spanning XR language immersion to adaptive proctoring. Congratulations to every winner and finalist; you show that rigour and creativity thrive together. We were honoured when our collaboration with the Generalitat Valencia won Best Transformational Project.
Peer support continued as Chile’s Education Quality Agency invited us for an in depth interview and also to convene colleagues from Italy and Lithuania to share the nuts and bolts of nationwide K-12 programmes.
Closer to home, we reaffirmed our open-source roots with the launch later this year of TAO Community Edition (TAO CE)—an AGPL bundle of Advance, Grader, Insights and Portal that spans the assessment lifecycle. TAO CE lets institutions own their data, plug in only what they need and shape the roadmap alongside us—ensuring that innovation, inclusion and integrity remain community-driven.
Enjoy the summer recharge and keep the ideas flowing!
